A Pro Version of Parker's PM-20 Okay, any time you start writing about Parker Guitars, you immediately use the term "unique," then try hard to find three or four other words that capture the essence of that special "Parker Look." Of course, there really aren't any other adjectives. Simply put, Parker Guitars aren't for everyone. Well, at least until you happen to pick one up and play it. At that point, you either "get it" or you don't, and a surprising number of players have become converts since Parker first introduced the unique Fly guitar. But we're here to talk about the PM-20PRO, which is the upscale version of Parker's original dual humbucker-equipped PM-20. All it takes is one look and you know what Parker is going for here. Let's see: Two humbuckers, single cutaway, mahogany body and neck with a flame maple top.... Got it yet? Of course you do. But let's not be too hasty in thinking this is a "me too" guitar.
The Pro features some nice upgrades to the mahogany-body PM-20, namely two Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups - a JB Humbucker in the bridge position and a Jazz Humbucker in the neck position with coil-tapping, of course for extra tonal versatility. Then there's that premium flame maple top and the crowning touch, abalone purfling around the entire body. We like it, but others might find it a bit "over the top." But that's for you to decide!
